Translation Operations Department Intern

About the role

Translation Excellence, Inc. (TE) is a language services provider offering translation and localization services to clients worldwide. Its Translation Operations Department ensures the efficient and high-quality delivery of those services. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in translation project management and language services coordination, working closely with an experienced team on the planning, execution and monitoring of translation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers on document preparation, vendor coordination and quality assurance checks.
• Help identify and onboard freelance translators and language experts, and maintain organized vendor records.
• Carry out quality checks on translated content for accuracy and client requirements.
• Help create and maintain project documentation such as plans, timelines and progress reports.
• Facilitate communication between clients, translators and internal team members.
• Research projects, industries or language nuances to support project success.
• Help with invoicing, project tracking and file management.
• Identify process improvements and help develop departmental best practices.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or Master's program in Translation, Linguistics, International Relations or a related field.
• Strong written and spoken English and at least one other language.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, detail-oriented and well organized.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Passion for languages and interest in the translation industry.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office Suite (a plus)
• Familiarity with translation management tools (a plus)
