Training Support Technician I – Industrial Fire

About the role

The Training Support Technician I assists the Industrial Program and other emergency service training programs at the TEEX Brayton Fire Training Field. This full‑time, onsite position involves direct student interaction, equipment maintenance, and safety evaluation during live fire training.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on training props, ranging from minor to major tasks.
• Serve as a safety evaluator during live fire exercises, recognizing health risks and ensuring proper PPE use.
• Track and report consumable usage for Industrial Program training deliveries.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of maintenance or construction repair experience.
• Valid driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 30 days).

Required skills

• Forklift, material handler, and man‑lift operation certification.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
• Online Skills Evaluation certification.
• NFPA 470 Online Awareness and Operations certification.
• Texas Railroad Commission certifications for DOT Cylinder Filler and Service/Installation.
• NFPA 1081 Exterior and Interior with ProBoard certifications.
