Postdoctoral Researcher in Process Safety

About the role

The Texas A&M Engineering Mary Kay O'Connor Process Safety Center seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher to conduct advanced research in process safety, risk analysis, and system reliability. The role involves independent research, supervision of research personnel, and collaboration with graduate and undergraduate students.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct quantitative risk assessment (QRA), process hazards reviews, and develop process safety management systems.
• Assist graduate and undergraduate students with research projects and paper writing.
• Support day‑to‑day operations of the Center, including organizing workshops and symposiums.
• Prepare research proposals, secure funding, and present findings on behalf of the Center.
• Perform process system safety analysis, including fault detection and diagnosis.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree (PhD) in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Oil & Gas Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in systems modelling, process safety, risk engineering, or reliability engineering.
