Training Specialist (Government Contracting)

About the role

The Training Specialist will design, update, and deliver a variety of instructional materials, including courses, videos, and catalogs, to support government‑contracting operations. You will prepare both instructor and student resources, lead live classroom and virtual sessions, and collaborate with subject‑matter experts to ensure training aligns with mission requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and revise training courses, outlines, lesson plans, and catalogs.
• Create instructor materials such as presentations, facilitator guides, and training aids.
• Produce student resources including manuals, workbooks, handouts, certificates, and critique forms.
• Support the creation of training videos and other electronic learning products.
• Maintain all training materials in organized electronic formats.
• Deliver live training sessions—classroom, workshops, seminars, and online events.
• Train personnel on contracting processes, contract writing systems, business processes, and related topics.
• Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing training events.
• Gather and analyze participant feedback to improve future training.
• Collaborate with technical writers, SMEs, government staff, and program leadership to ensure content accuracy.

Required profile

• Experience developing or revising training courses, lesson plans, and instructional materials.
• Proven ability to deliver live, virtual, or classroom training.
• Background in government contracting, contract administration, or acquisition‑related training.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate technical information into clear, usable training content.
• Effective collaboration with technical writers, SMEs, and program managers.
