Trailer Mechanic – Full‑Time Position

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic to join its Otsego, MN service center. This full‑time position offers a competitive hourly rate of $37.75 and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic procedures, repairs, and preventive maintenance on trailers.
• Conduct safety inspections and prepare required FMCSA documentation.
• Test equipment to verify performance against manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.
• Complete trailer preventive maintenance (PM) tasks and address any defects.
• Maintain accurate work orders using the Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System (preferred).

Required profile

• Experience with safety inspections and FMCSA compliance.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
• Proven track record repairing or replacing trailer components.
• Capability to lift at least 50 lb and work in varying climate conditions.
• Own set of tools, dependable, and ready for shift work.

Required skills

• Trailer repair and preventive maintenance.
• Safety inspection procedures and FMCSA documentation.
• Technical manual interpretation.
• Equipment testing and performance verification.
• Use of Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System (preferred).
• Welding, sheet‑metal and composite panel repair.
• Operation of yard tractors and trailers.
