Top Sealer Operator - 12-Hour Shift

About the role

Saputo, a top 10 global dairy processor, is hiring a top sealer operator for its 24/7 manufacturing facility. The role is hands-on and involves operating gable-top carton filling and packaging equipment on a 12-hour shift, working in a team across days, swing or night shifts and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Operate gable-top carton filling and packaging equipment safely and efficiently, following standard operating procedures without deviation.
• Collect routine product samples, test seal integrity for leaks and tears, and carry out dye inspections for quality assurance.
• Set up packaging coders and validate product codes, and set up packaging equipment according to the production schedule.
• Identify out-of-specification product conditions and follow the notification protocol; perform routine equipment adjustments, change-overs, CIP/SIP, clean-up and set-up.
• Complete production records accurately, perform product reclaim and rework, and support internal and external audits.
• Follow occupational health and safety procedures, GMPs and food safety requirements, and comply with federal, state and local dairy food regulations.
• Perform good housekeeping, cross-train with other departments, and adhere to the Saputo Code of Ethics and workplace climate policy.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; minimum two years of work experience in food manufacturing, with dairy food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of food manufacturing acronyms such as SQF, QA/QC, CQP, HACCP, SOP, 5S and GMP.
• Lift truck certification or ability to obtain one (Powered Industrial Truck).
• Successful completion of drug screen and background check, good attendance, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work in a noisy, temperature-changing environment, lift up to 40 lbs frequently, and work up to 12 hours per day; shift flexibility is required.

Required skills

• Strong math skills.
• Technical skills to operate and understand equipment controls, touch panels and mechanical operations.
• Advanced quality/food safety training or certifications are a plus but not required.

Pay rate: $23.00 per hour.
