Box Maker - 12-Hour Night Shift

About the role

Saputo, a top 10 global dairy processor, is hiring a Box Maker for its 24/7 manufacturing facility. The role is hands-on and covers a wide range of dairy operations, including milk receiving, pasteurization, blending and product filling. Operators work in teams and may rotate between days, swings or nights, including weekends, and may work overtime.

Key responsibilities

• Cross-train in milk receiving, pasteurization and batching, and product filling operations.
• Inspect bulk tankers, collect and test raw dairy samples, and report deviations to the supervisor.
• Hook up and safely unload tanker trucks, pump raw dairy into bulk tanks, and perform CIP cleaning and routine SIP operations.
• Mix, blend and batch products according to customer recipes, and process them to meet pasteurization requirements.
• Review daily time and temperature charts, report variances and corrective actions, and support FSMA compliance.
• Perform filler operator duties, including set-up, change-overs, weight checks and packaging quality inspections.
• Operate a lift truck safely, maintain production records, and support internal and external audits.
• Follow GMP, food safety and occupational health and safety procedures, and comply with dairy food regulations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of work experience in food manufacturing; dairy experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a noisy, physically demanding manufacturing environment, lifting up to 50 lbs frequently, and to see and differentiate colors.
• Successful completion of a drug screen and background check.

Required skills

• Understanding of food manufacturing acronyms such as SQF, HACCP, GMP and 5S.
• Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office and ERP applications, SAP preferred.
• Ability to operate equipment controls, touch panels and mechanical operations.

What we offer

• Pay rate of $21.63 plus a $1.50 per hour night shift differential.
• Night schedules: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Wednesday 6pm-6:30am (B), or Thursday, Friday, Saturday and every other Wednesday 6pm-6:30am (D).
