Ticket Seller - Mayo Civic Center

About the role

The Mayo Civic Center in Rochester is hiring a part-time, non-exempt Ticket Seller for its Box Office department, reporting to the Box Office Manager. The main task is processing single ticket sales for various events, and the role also covers Will Call and customer service windows during events, plus other related ticketing duties. Accuracy is expected on all financial and ticketing transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Process single ticket sales at the box office and help with group sales when requested.
• Familiarise yourself with the various venue layouts.
• Answer questions about admission fees, fares, schedules, reservations, coming attractions and ticket policies in person, by phone and by email.
• Provide excellent customer service to all guests inside the Mayo Civic Center.
• Balance all applicable transactions for the day and complete all necessary reports before departure.
• Open cash and all money, checks, vouchers, coupons or credit cards received during daily sales.
• Maintain a daily audit of all ticketed events.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Box Office Manager or Supervisor.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Able to pass a credit and background screening.
• Able to work various nights and weekends.
• Box office or guest service background preferred.

Required skills

• Computer and cash handling experience strongly preferred.

What we offer

• Salary range of $13.06 - $14.06.
• Paid sick leave.
