Third Key Holder (Retail)

About the role

The Third Key Holder provides exceptional customer service in a Family Dollar store, greeting shoppers, assisting with product selection, and completing sales transactions. The role also supports daily store operations, inventory management, deliveries, and store cleanliness, stepping in for the Store Manager or Assistant Manager when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Greet, assist, and thank customers in a friendly manner.
• Handle sales transactions accurately using the POS system.
• Maintain a clean, well‑stocked store and ensure proper product placement.
• Assist with unloading deliveries, organizing merchandise, and restocking shelves.
• Support the Store Manager with daily tasks, inventory control, and asset‑protection activities.
• Open or close the store and oversee store conditions in the absence of management.
• Complete all required training and follow company policies.

Required profile

• Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lb regularly (occasionally up to 55 lb) and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, and repetitive lifting.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Preferably prior management experience in retail, grocery, or drug‑store environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with POS (point‑of‑sale) systems.
