About the role
The Telemetry Technician provides continuous surveillance of cardiac monitors on the night shift, promptly alerting nursing staff to any changes in patient tracings. This position supports patient care by ensuring accurate monitoring and smooth handoffs between care teams.
Key responsibilities
- Admit, discharge, and transfer patients into the telemetry monitoring system.
- Continuously monitor new telemetry patients and ensure they appear on the main screen.
- Maintain and report any issues with monitoring equipment.
- Document actions taken and ensure smooth patient handoffs between care teams.
Required profile
- High School Diploma/GED; less than 1 year cardiac monitoring experience preferred.
- Associate’s Degree and 2 years cardiac monitoring experience are preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 7 lbs, sit for extended periods, and perform frequent fine‑motor tasks.
