Technical Writer - Automotive Documentation

About the role

MSX International, a partner to vehicle manufacturers, retailers and mobility organizations for more than 30 years, is looking for an experienced Technical Writer to develop, maintain and improve technical documentation for automotive products, services, processes and systems. The role works closely with service operations, repair procedures, warranty processes and technician-facing documentation, so dealership experience is highly preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Create, edit and maintain automotive technical documentation and Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs).
• Collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts to turn complex technical information into clear, concise documentation for technicians, dealerships, field personnel and customers.
• Manage the complete TSB lifecycle, from draft through review, approval, publication and dealer distribution.
• Review and update documentation to meet content, style, formatting and quality standards, adding graphics, images and charts where helpful.
• Run validation reviews and usability testing to check the accuracy and effectiveness of technical procedures.
• Maintain and audit historical TSB records, identifying opportunities to create new service bulletins.
• Improve documentation processes and standards to support engineering teams and dealership service operations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in technical writing, documentation or a related role.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, Automotive Technology, English or a related field.
• Preferred: automotive industry experience, experience developing service documentation or repair procedures, and familiarity with dealership environments or OEM documentation standards.
