Principal Product Marketing Manager, Developer Platform & GTM
Atlassian · San Francisco
Job description
About the role
Atlassian is looking for a Principal Product Marketing Manager to own how its developer platform reaches the market, with primary responsibility for Forge and the broader developer GTM. This is a hybrid Product Marketing and Developer GTM role, focused on shaping the story of technical products, translating complex capabilities into value for developers, and building the GTM motions that drive awareness, activation and adoption. The immediate priority is TEAM for Builders, Atlassian's Tier 1 event for developers and builders.
Key responsibilities
- Positioning, messaging, segmentation and competitive narrative for Forge and the developer platform; a POV on AI-enabled development, APIs, MCP, agents and developer workflows.
- Own the developer marketing strategy for TEAM for Builders: audience, narrative, developer journey, launch integration, programming, acquisition and post-event activation.
- Own the strategy for reaching, activating and growing developers, connecting launches, events, advocacy, community, content and growth programs.
- Lead GTM for major developer and platform launches (Studio App Builder, Teamwork Graph API, Forge App MCP, Forge Remote Agents, Connect retirement, Forge Container Services, Codegeist).
- Own the marketing strategy across awareness, engagement, build, publish, consumption and Marketplace outcomes, partnering with Developer Advocacy, Community, Growth, Marketplace and Product.
- Serve as a senior marketing partner to Product leadership, bringing developer and market insight into strategy.
- Manage AWS MDF investment for Forge and use partner funding to amplify the developer GTM.
Required profile
- 7+ years in product marketing, developer marketing, developer GTM, platform marketing or integrated marketing.
- Experience marketing technical products such as developer platforms, APIs, developer tools, integrations, cloud infrastructure or AI products.
- Technical fluency to work with Product and Engineering, without needing to write production code.
- Experience owning complex launches, developer programs, events or integrated GTM motions across teams.
- Bias toward developer and business outcomes, not just launches, impressions or event attendance.
Required skills
- Strong positioning and storytelling skills.
- Strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and working cross-functionally.
What we offer
- Base pay ranges for new hires: Zone A $179,100-$233,825, Zone B $161,190-$210,443, Zone C $148,653-$194,075.
- Possibility of benefits, bonuses, commissions and equity.
- Flexible work arrangements (office, home or hybrid) and a wide range of perks.
