Marketing Business Operations Intern, 2027 Summer U.S.
Atlassian · San Francisco
Job description
About the role
The Office of the CMO is looking for an intern to help build the OCMO Insight Engine, an AI-powered solution that turns marketing performance data into concise, decision-ready insights for senior leaders. You will use Atlassian tools, Rovo and responsible AI practices to develop agents that analyze monthly OKR results, business reviews and historical trends, and produce an executive report highlighting the decisions that matter most. The internship runs 12 weeks between May/June 2027 and August/September 2027, is paid, and is remote; it is not eligible for F-1 and J-1 students and carries no work sponsorship.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with the Office of the CMO to understand how marketing business reviews and selected reports are prepared and used.
- Build Rovo-based agents that ingest current- and prior-month Atlassian Goals scores and owner commentary, detect significant month-over-month changes, draft executive-summary bullets on likely drivers, flag low-scoring key results and generate follow-up questions for leadership.
- Rebuild a month-over-month trend view without relying on a single reporting surface, and produce a one-screen CMO pre-read or dashboard.
- Set up a human-in-the-loop review process, test outputs for accuracy, clarity and executive tone, and document a reusable workflow for the OCMO team.
- Measure the impact of the solution (time saved, adoption, read time, quality of decisions) and explore related automations such as update reminders, nomination triage, template refreshes and auditing of stale pages.
Required profile
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program in computer science, data science, information systems, business, marketing, communications or a related field, returning after the internship and graduating by June 2028.
- Interest in AI, automation, analytics or business operations.
- Entry-level candidates only: less than a year of professional experience (excluding internships and co-ops).
- Ability to commit to a full-time internship (40 hours per week).
Required skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with structured and unstructured information.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Comfort learning new tools and working with stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
What we offer
- Paid 12-week summer internship with mentorship and professional growth.
- Base pay depending on pay zone: Zone A $43-$51 per hour, Zone B $39-$44 per hour, Zone C $36-$43 per hour.
- Health and wellbeing resources and paid volunteer days among other perks.
