Technical Operations Engineer

About the role

Profound is seeking a Technical Operations Engineer to own the reliability, security, and scalability of its identity, endpoint, and IT infrastructure systems. The role focuses on turning reactive IT support into proactive, automated solutions that support rapid company growth.

Key responsibilities

• Triaging and resolving technical issues with an emphasis on automation and continuous improvement.
• Managing and troubleshooting macOS devices and development environments at scale.
• Tracing root causes across complex multi‑system failures, including Google Workspace, MDM, and AWS.
• Building runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and documentation to elevate team capabilities.
• Identifying recurring issue patterns and implementing systematic fixes.
• Leading projects on device provisioning, access control, and compliance automation.
• Designing self‑service solutions that enable engineers to move faster.
• Partnering with security to implement and maintain compliance controls.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in IT operations or technical support, preferably supporting engineering teams in high‑growth SaaS or AI companies.
• Strong incident management skills, including triage, root‑cause analysis, and pattern recognition.
• Clear communicator able to explain complex technical issues to both engineers and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Self‑directed with good judgment on when to escalate versus resolve independently.

Required skills

• macOS device management and MDM tools (Mosyle).
• Identity management and SSO with Okta.
• Google Workspace administration, SAML, OIDC, SCIM.
• Multi‑cloud support, primarily AWS, with familiarity of GCP or Azure.
• Network troubleshooting (DNS, VPN, routing).
• Scripting/automation using Python, TypeScript, or Bash.
• Infrastructure as code and configuration management.
