Technical Activity Manager (Experienced Professional)

About the role

Michelin's BF Goodrich Tire Plant (BFG4) in Woodburn, Indiana, is looking for an experienced Technical Activity Manager to lead the facility toward optimal operational performance. The role applies lean manufacturing principles to identify and resolve the root causes of mechanical inefficiencies, manages and coordinates the maintenance team, and aligns work with the Maintenance department's strategy. It aims to improve equipment performance, quality, efficiency, availability and cost.

Key responsibilities

• Safety and compliance: protect personnel and the environment, ensure equipment meets standards and regulations
• People management: lead two Maintenance Supervisors and oversee 20 employees in the Maintenance department, including the planner and spare parts technician
• Maintenance plan optimization: develop and implement strategies for long-term maintenance plans
• Performance optimization: supervise equipment availability, cost, reliability and efficiency
• Equipment durability: implement proactive maintenance plans and define maintenance strategies by equipment criticality
• Implement and use maintenance management tools and methodologies
• Develop a succession plan and skill diagnosis, and regularly update training plans
• Drive continuous improvement, share knowledge and take part in RTA network meetings and external partner engagements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Maintenance Management or a related field preferred
• 5+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience in maintenance
• Experience implementing and using maintenance management systems
• Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to work with cross-functional teams and external partners
