Shift Manager (Experienced Professional)

About the role

Michelin is hiring a Shift Manager for its BF Goodrich tire plant in Woodburn, Indiana, which was established in 1961 and makes passenger and light truck tires. The role leads a team of wage production operators on a rotating shift basis and works closely with maintenance, quality and other teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and empower a team of wage production operators to achieve their common objectives on a rotating shift basis.
• Collaborate with maintenance, quality and other teams to ensure smooth daily operations and meet performance goals.
• Proactively identify and remove obstacles that hinder production operations.
• Drive process and team improvements by helping identify them and implement them.
• Coordinate with the supplier of forklift drivers to support the team.

Required profile

• Experience leading teams or project groups, setting clear goals, delegating tasks, giving regular feedback and coaching, and fostering collaboration.
• 3 years of successful employee performance management, covering attendance, productivity, skill development and team management.
• Willingness to work in an industrial plant environment on a rotating 13-hour shift schedule.
• Military service as a Junior Military Officer or Senior Non-Commissioned Officer is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office apps.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally with internal partners, suppliers, customers and colleagues.
