About the role

The School of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at LSU Veterinary Medicine seeks a Teaching Instructor of Anesthesiology for a one‑year, fixed‑term appointment. The role focuses on delivering hands‑on instruction to DVM students in clinical and surgical skills laboratories, including live‑animal sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Instruct 80% of time: teach first‑ through fourth‑year DVM students the principles and application of anesthesia in clinical and surgical labs.
• Participate in didactic sessions and supervise clinical rotations.
• Perform 20% of duties including emergency coverage and other assigned tasks.

Required profile

• DVM degree or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a one‑year rotating internship, anesthesia internship, or comparable veterinary experience.
• Eligibility for Louisiana faculty DVM licensure.
• Preferred: at least one year of experience teaching anesthesia and analgesia.
