Tax Senior – Private Client (Hybrid, New York City)

About the role

Join a leading global investment firm as a Tax Senior within the Private Client tax team. You will work closely with senior tax leadership to manage compliance, planning, and reporting for ultra‑high‑net‑worth individuals and their entities, operating in a hybrid setting across New York City and Connecticut.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax workpapers, estimates and filings for UHNW individuals, including trusts, foundations and family‑office structures.
• Coordinate with external tax providers, assembling supporting schedules, return templates and documentation.
• Assist with tax provisions and supporting schedules used in monthly financial reporting.
• Respond to federal and state tax notices and audit inquiries.
• Partner with internal teams on tax reporting and transactional questions.
• Support senior leadership on tax planning and structuring initiatives.
• Contribute to process‑improvement and automation projects within the tax function.

Required profile

• 5+ years of U.S. individual tax experience focused on high‑net‑worth or ultra‑high‑net‑worth clients.
• CPA designation or a clear path to obtain it.
• Strong technical grounding in federal, state and local individual tax compliance, with familiarity of complex schedules and foreign forms (PFIC, FBAR, FTC) a plus.
• Experience handling tax notices and audit inquiries.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented and proactive.
