Claims Specialist / Claims Manager – Commercial Insurance

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Claims Specialist or Claims Manager to join an established independent insurance agency. The role can be tailored to the right candidate – either leading a small claims team or serving as a senior individual contributor handling commercial insurance claims.

Key responsibilities

• Manage commercial insurance claims from start to finish, ensuring clear communication and consistent follow‑through.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, carriers, producers, and internal account teams.
• Advocate for clients and drive claims toward effective resolution.
• For manager‑level hires, provide leadership, coaching, and oversight to a small claims team.
• Contribute to a service‑oriented, relationship‑driven agency environment.

Required profile

• Significant experience handling commercial insurance claims.
• Five or more years of relevant experience preferred for specialist candidates.
• Prior leadership of a claims team or department strongly preferred for manager candidates.
• Carrier‑side claims experience is highly valued; agency‑side backgrounds are also welcome.
• Strong communication, client‑service, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Insurance licensing is helpful but not required.
