Tax Internship – 2027 Season (Cincinnati)

About the role

HCM Wealth Advisors & CPAs is seeking a motivated Tax Intern to support the 2027 tax season. This paid, on‑site internship runs from January/February through April, with the option to start in Summer 2026 for additional training and project work. Flexible scheduling accommodates academic commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing individual income tax returns (Form 1040) and related extensions or estimated tax vouchers.
• Organize and review client documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Support the tax return process from intake through final delivery.
• Shadow tax professionals to learn the full lifecycle of tax preparation and client service.
• Develop proficiency in tax and accounting software systems.
• Provide administrative assistance to the tax and operations teams, ensuring timely and high‑quality deliverables.
• Contribute to special projects and team initiatives as needed.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Intention to pursue CPA certification is preferred.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and analytical abilities.
• High attention to detail and effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
