Tax Advisor – High Net Worth & Business Services

About the role

Waverly Advisors is seeking a Tax Advisor to join its Business Services team. You will provide sophisticated tax planning, preparation, and advisory services to high‑net‑worth individuals, families, trusts, and closely‑held businesses, working closely with Wealth Advisors and Financial Planners.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and review individual, trust, estate, partnership, and corporate tax returns, signing off on completed work.
• Develop proactive tax planning strategies tailored to high‑net‑worth clients and business owners.
• Advise clients on tax implications of estate planning, gifting, charitable giving, investments, and succession planning.
• Participate in client meetings, presenting complex tax concepts in clear, actionable terms.
• Collaborate with Wealth Advisors, Financial Planners, and Investment Teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Serve as primary point of contact for client tax matters, building long‑term relationships.
• Research complex tax issues and communicate findings to clients and colleagues.
• Prepare responses to tax authority inquiries and resolve tax notices.
• Maintain organized workpapers and documentation per firm standards.
• Train, supervise, and mentor junior tax staff and contribute to their professional development.
