Systems IC Architect - PoL Power Solutions

About the role

NXP is seeking a Systems IC Architect with deep expertise in system-level architecture, high-performance power conversion and semiconductor packaging. The role defines next-generation Point of Load (PoL) solutions for automotive and AI compute platforms, with locations in San Diego, San Jose, California or Austin, Texas. It focuses on advanced power management for PoL solutions, with SiP integration.

Key responsibilities

• Define product concepts and specifications for power semiconductor modules and System-in-Package (SiP) solutions, translating customer requirements into packaging and power management solutions
• Develop and maintain long-term product and technology roadmaps with product line leaders and R&D teams
• Support development through thermal optimization and electrical analysis
• Integrate ICs and power semiconductors into advanced packages and systems, working with system and IC product architects to meet performance, efficiency, space and cost targets
• Drive early-phase engineering and architecture for AI compute, automotive 48V systems and electrification platforms
• Analyze customer needs to deliver optimized power efficiency and thermal management strategies, and report KPIs and project status to executives

Required profile

• Master's degree in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related field (Ph.D. preferred)
• 15+ years of experience in power semiconductors, packaging and system-level integration
• Proven track record in product definition through revenue realization
• Experience powering high-performance compute SoC platforms; automotive power management experience is a strong plus
• Ability to lead cross-functional, global teams and willingness to travel globally

Required skills

• System-in-Package (SiP) integration
• Circuit simulation tools such as Cadence Spectre, PSPICE, HSPICE, Saber, Simetrix/Simplis and Verilog-AMS
• Knowledge of PCB materials and stack-up
• Thermal management, electrical performance and reliability
• Functional safety standards (ISO26262 and/or IEC61508) is a plus
