Surgical Technologist

About the role

The Surgical Technologist will join the Surgery Unit at Mercy Hospital, a Cleveland Clinic Health System facility in Canton. Working under the supervision of surgeons and registered nurses, you will help maintain a sterile environment and support patient care throughout operative procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Set up sterile tables, ensure supplies, drugs, and equipment are ready.
• Assist RN with instrument and sponge counts, gowning, gloving, and draping.
• Pass instruments to the surgical team, collect and label specimens, and prepare instruments for sterilization.
• Participate in intra‑operative time‑outs and answer patient phone calls as needed.

Required profile

• Graduate of a CAAHEP‑ or ABHES‑accredited Surgical Technology program, or equivalent military training.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (TS‑C or CST) and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work variable days and hours, including on‑call and shift work from 7:00 AM to 11:30 PM.

• Instrument handling, counting, and specimen labeling.
