Surgical Technologist – Full Time

About the role

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join its Surgical Services team. The technologist will support surgeons by preparing the operating room, maintaining sterility, and assisting with patient transport and equipment management.

Key responsibilities

• Check physician preference cards and gather required supplies and equipment for each procedure.
• Perform surgical hand scrub, gowning, and gloving using sterile technique.
• Set up sterile tables, pass instruments, and assist with draping the sterile field.
• Conduct instrument counts with the circulator before incision and before closure.
• Transport patients to ancillary services and inpatient rooms while ensuring safety.
• Maintain and stock supplies, clean and prepare instruments, and perform terminal cleaning of the operating room.

Required profile

• Graduated from a Surgical Technologist program; certification preferred.
• 2 years central sterile experience preferred (not required).
• 1 year surgical technologist experience preferred (not required).
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.

Required skills

• Knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique.
• Experience with sterilization equipment, instrument wrapping, and repackaging.
• Proficiency in computer order entry systems.
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage time effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
