Surgical Technician – Operating Room

About the role
Join Lehigh Valley Health Network as a Surgical Technician and become an integral member of the operating room team. You will support surgeons by maintaining a sterile field and handling instruments during procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room, gather sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment before each case.
- Maintain the sterile field using aseptic techniques and ensure equipment functions safely.
- Perform surgical counts and organize case carts for upcoming procedures.
- Assist with in‑between case cleaning and turnover of the OR suite.
Required profile
- High School Diploma/GED or Technical School Diploma in Surgical Technology.
- Ability to lift and carry 40‑50 lb, stand for long periods, and walk 8‑10 miles per shift.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
Required skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Tech in Surgery (TS‑C) certification.
- Knowledge of medical and surgical supplies and sterile techniques.
