Supply Technician - Antarctica Deployment

About the role

A Supply Technician is needed to maintain workplace duties and ensure safety is the highest priority, complying with ASC Environmental, Safety and Health, Waste Management and Quality Assurance requirements. The role involves receiving, storing and documenting materials, maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting department operations, with deployment to Antarctica.

Key responsibilities

• Process inventory transactions (issues, returns, transfers) and keep materials records current and accurate
• Receive, store and document materials, including forklift support as required
• Check received items for wrong, overage, damaged or short goods and report discrepancies
• Document incoming and outgoing material, help prepare outbound shipments and investigate routine inventory discrepancies
• Maintain warehouse and Outside Storage Area cleanliness, conduct physical inventories and answer customer enquiries about requisitions and deliveries
• Cross-train with other departments in Transportation and Logistics, including heavy equipment and oversized vehicle operation, and train in vessel offload procedures
• Work any shift during vessel offloads or special operations, complete annual light vehicle, forklift and inventory system training, assist with runway operations in winter and perform outdoor work in varying temperatures

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• At least two years' experience in inventory materials management, purchasing, warehousing, cargo, transportation or supply chain logistics, including forklift use, or one season in the Transportation and Logistics department in Antarctica
• Willingness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods, with medical, dental, drug screening, background checks and US citizenship for facility credentials
• Ability to lift and move items and work outdoors in extreme cold

Required skills

• Intermediate Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); advanced Excel preferred
• ERP system navigation and data entry
• Preferred: IBM Maximo, remote-site and polar logistics experience, and familiarity with commodity groups
