Summer 2027 Internship: Progress Engineer

About the role

Michelin is offering a Summer 2027 internship in Peosta, IA, within its Progress Engineering program. It gives hands-on manufacturing experience where the intern's work directly improves shop performance and operator outcomes. The program trains industrial engineering fundamentals, leads real improvement activities and works alongside experienced IE mentors and shop leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Gain hands-on manufacturing experience in an industrial plant environment (Monday to Friday, day shift).
• Receive practical training in industrial engineering fundamentals.
• Lead real improvement activities and work alongside IE mentors and shop leaders.

Required profile

• Major in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Computer, Electrical, Environmental Engineering or Computer Science.
• Currently enrolled full time at an accredited four-year college or university.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• US citizen, permanent resident or otherwise authorized to work for Michelin on an ongoing, indefinite basis; the position is not available for immigration sponsorship.
• Willingness to work in an industrial plant environment, Monday to Friday on day shift.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn other software systems.
• Ability to interact professionally with external partners, suppliers, customers and colleagues.
• Ability to work in teams to meet common objectives.
