Summer 2027 Internship - Biomedical Engineering

About the role

Stryker offers a summer 2027 internship in biomedical engineering, based onsite in Cary, Illinois. Interns contribute to meaningful projects, gain exposure to mentors and join an innovative, teamwork-driven culture. The internship is open to students majoring in biomedical engineering or related fields.

Key responsibilities

• Research and development: identify the needs and goals of future products, research new technologies, customer expectations, business requirements and regulations, and use tools such as CAD, FEA and test labs to develop new product concepts.
• Product engineering: identify improvement opportunities for current products, research new technologies, customer feedback and product performance data, and use CAD, FEA, test labs and root cause analysis to improve product safety and efficacy.
• Apply classroom knowledge in a fast-paced industry setting, implement new ideas, network with high-level stakeholders and document complex processes clearly.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, remaining enrolled after the internship.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, verified at time of hire.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. and does not need employment-based sponsorship.
• Strong written and verbal communication, leadership, problem-solving and organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

What we offer

• Pay of $20 minimum to $35 maximum per hour.
• Sign-on bonus, 11 paid holidays annually.
• Paid corporate housing or a living stipend, depending on hiring location.
