OnSite Specialist - Salem, OR

About the role

Stryker is hiring an OnSite Specialist in Salem, OR, a field-based position supporting surgical procedures and equipment management. The specialist provides clinical surgical support by managing equipment, anticipates device needs of the operating room staff and surgeon, troubleshoots and maintains Stryker equipment and related devices, and works with surgeons, OR personnel, central processing and biomedical teams. Shifts may include on-call, overnight and weekend coverage, and may involve rotating schedules and overnight travel.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all relevant equipment and anticipate device needs during surgical procedures
• Troubleshoot and maintain Stryker equipment and related devices
• Maintain knowledge of equipment and disposable products through Stryker training programs and share information on new and current products
• Record and report data metrics, account information and surgical procedure information accurately and on a monthly basis
• Keep vendor credentials up to date and adhere to HIPAA and other patient confidentiality policies
• Analyze and resolve product issues quickly, following Stryker and medical facility policies
• Provide support and coverage on all shifts at the assigned account and other accounts in and outside the region, including on-call, overnight and weekend shifts

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's or associate degree or equivalent certifications preferred
• For specialists in the Sterile Processing Department: HSPA CRCST certification within 6 months of start date, renewed annually
• OR experience and knowledge of anatomy, surgical procedures and techniques preferred
• Ability to provide on-call support within 45 minutes driving distance of the account, and to travel overnight between accounts
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs constantly, and meet visual acuity and dexterity requirements

• Quick troubleshooting under pressure, excellent analytical, problem-solving and time-management skills
