About the role

The YMCA International Learning Center in Boston seeks enthusiastic substitute ESOL instructors to teach beginner through advanced adult learners in remote or hybrid formats for the 2025‑2026 academic year.

Key responsibilities

Substitute for General English classes, adapting lessons to diverse adult learners.
Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned with Massachusetts ELPS standards, integrating academic and employment skills.
Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom and manage attendance records.
Utilize Google Classroom, Zoom, and digital resources to support language production and digital literacy.
Collaborate with Education and Career Advisors and peers on curriculum and student progress.

Required profile

Bachelor’s degree required; education background preferred.
TESOL/TEFL/TESL certification preferred.
Eligibility to live and work in the United States.
Sensitivity to socio‑economic and ethnic minority issues.

Required skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Proficiency with Google Suite (Docs, Drive, Classroom).
Experience using Zoom for virtual instruction.
