Part‑Time Remote ESOL Instructor

About the role

The YMCA Boston International Learning Center seeks a part‑time, evening ESOL instructor to teach adult learners both online via Zoom and in‑person. You will create a supportive, engaging environment that helps students improve English for personal and business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Teach ESOL to adult small‑business owners using a learner‑centered approach.
• Deliver lessons online via Zoom and in‑person, customizing curriculum to student proficiency.
• Integrate digital literacy and business contexts into reading, writing, speaking, and listening activities.
• Use Google Classroom to assign homework, track progress, and communicate with students.
• Collaborate with Education and Career Advisors, schedule guest speakers, and maintain accurate attendance and progress records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (Education background preferred).
• TESOL/TEFL/TESL certification preferred.
• Eligibility to live and work in the United States.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficiency with Google Suite (Docs, Classroom, Drive).
• Experience using Zoom for virtual instruction.
