Student Finance Analyst I

About the role

Covista, a healthcare education provider, is hiring a Student Finance Analyst I in Columbia, MD, in its Student Support department. Working under general direction, the analyst supports student finance operations, including Title IV awarding, verification, disbursement and credit balance processing, with a focus on accuracy, compliance and responsiveness. The role uses data and reporting to find trends and drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Apply working knowledge of processes, procedures and policies in day-to-day work
• Use advanced Title IV knowledge with minimal guidance, troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions
• Generate, analyze and interpret reports, identify trends and run root cause analysis
• Anticipate risks or questions and communicate recommended solutions to stakeholders
• Evaluate processes and recommend improvements, including training team members
• Present findings to leadership and escalate complex issues when needed
• Support system or database conversions with leadership and IT teams
• Own key processes, mentor and share knowledge, and meet SLAs
• Research new student finance regulations and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 2 years of experience in student accounts and/or financial aid preferred
• Eligible to obtain and maintain access to the NSLDS system and not in default of Title IV federal aid
• Customer service, communication, teamwork and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and to multi-task
