Strategic Finance & Operations Lead

About the role

Trial Library is seeking a Strategic Finance & Operations Lead to serve as a key advisor and operator within the leadership team. This role blends financial expertise, analytical rigor, and business‑operations experience to drive strategic decisions, ensure fiscal discipline, and improve organizational efficiency in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven startup.

Key responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning in partnership with senior leadership.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate invoicing, timely payments, and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal leadership, investors, and the Board of Directors.
• Partner with the external accounting firm to support closings, audits, tax filings, and GAAP‑compliant statements.
• Monitor revenue, margins, cash flow, and operating expenses to inform decision‑making.
• Implement and optimize internal financial controls, tools, and dashboards.
• Act as a strategic thought partner to the CEO, translating financial insights into actionable recommendations.
• Develop financial and operational models for new business opportunities, pricing, and partnerships.
• Prepare board and investor materials with clear analyses of performance.
• Collaborate with HR on headcount planning, payroll budgeting, and benefits administration.

Required profile

• Strong background in finance and operations, preferably in a startup or healthcare environment.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into strategic recommendations.
• Experience acting as a strategic partner to senior leadership.
• Comfort working cross‑functionally across finance, HR, and product teams.
