Store Manager

About the role

Hot Topic is looking for a Store Manager to lead its store at Mountain Grove Shopping Center in Redlands. The manager sets the store's direction by driving sales targets, recruiting, development and performance management, while delivering great customer service and building a strong team.

Key responsibilities

• Help the store achieve its sales plan and comparable sales goals
• Recruit, develop and retain a collaborative team, mentoring staff through recognition and feedback
• Create customer engagement through social media, store web applications and clienteling
• Run an operationally sound business with clear structure, delegation and autonomy
• Watch shrink and loss prevention, payroll hours, schedules and other factors affecting business
• Work with retail leadership and HQ on trends and customer feedback, and run sales reports to guide strategy
• Manage supply ownership and spend, and adapt to new technologies
• Merchandise the store using planograms and launch promos on time

Required profile

• At least 1-2 years of retail store management experience
• High school diploma or GED equivalent; a degree is an advantage
• Open-minded and curious about pop culture fandoms and music trends
• Able to move around the store, merchandise products with approved equipment and pack and unpack boxes weighing up to 50 pounds

Required skills

• Communication, recruiting and operations (payroll, reporting, scheduling, merchandising)
• Ability to roll with change in a fast-moving retail environment
