Store Human Resources Representative

About the role

Meijer is hiring a Store HR Representative in Southport Road, Indianapolis. The representative supports store leadership with HR-related coaching and guidance on staffing, workforce planning, training and development, retention, onboarding, employee relations, compensation, EEO, safety and HR policy, working closely with store leadership and the regional HR team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with staffing, interviewing and selecting leadership and non-leadership roles, and manage the applicant tracking system and applications.
• Oversee orientation, onboarding and training to drive engagement and retention.
• Support engagement through mTeam, mCulture, mPerformance and other HR initiatives.
• Facilitate communication between leadership and team members, and help leadership follow up with them.
• Support reporting, analysis and follow-up on talent management, talent development, talent acquisition and total rewards.
• Guide store leadership on career development resources, track individual development plans, talent profiles, development goals and training completion.
• Advise leadership on employee relations, dispute resolution, corrective and disciplinary actions, terminations and EEO matters, and assist in investigating employee complaints or policy violations.
• Provide business partner support on employee relations, compensation and payroll, benefits administration, talent development, talent management and disability management, and support HR Market Managers with projects.

Required profile

• High school or equivalent; an associate degree or above in Human Resources preferred.
• Ability to present thought leadership, take initiative and work independently.
• Strong planning, organizational and problem-solving skills, and active listening.
• Excellent oral and written communication, including facilitating small and large groups and designing effective meetings and conflict mediation.
• Ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the organization.
