HRBP / Senior HRBP

About the role

Howden Re, a global reinsurance broker and risk, capital and strategic advisor, is looking for an HR Business Partner (HRBP) or Senior HRBP in New York. As a strategic advisor to business leaders across North America, the HRBP partners with teams to align people strategies with business objectives, covering workforce planning, talent management, employee relations, performance management and change management.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders on human capital strategies, workforce planning, succession planning and organizational design
• Facilitate performance management, identify high-potential employees and support leadership development and coaching
• Act as the primary HR contact for employee relations, conduct workplace investigations and support compensation reviews and pay decisions
• Drive employee engagement, support company culture and maintain knowledge of HR best practices and employment legislation
• Work with legal and compliance teams, support audits and HR policy development, and monitor HR metrics such as turnover, retention and engagement

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology or a related field
• 7+ years of progressive human resources experience, including 3+ years in an HRBP, Senior Generalist or similar strategic HR role
• Demonstrated experience advising senior leaders on people matters and strong knowledge of U.S. employment law
• Excellent coaching, consulting and communication skills, and discretion with confidential information
