Stocking Clerk

About the role

Meijer is hiring a stocking clerk in Fort Gratiot, Michigan. This entry-level team member position delivers excellent customer service through product knowledge, efficient service and a friendly attitude, while being exposed to retail tasks in product, customer service and merchandising. The role keeps the store running smoothly so shelves are always ready for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Stock shelves with a variety of food and grocery products
• Move product from pallets or carts to the correct shelf locations efficiently and accurately
• Pull backstock and dispose of cardboard and trash in designated back-room areas
• Work with leadership to make sure assigned areas are completed on time
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment
• Provide friendly, respectful interactions with customers when needed
• Work overnight shifts to prepare the store for the day ahead
• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly

Required profile

• Comfortable learning and using basic technology
• Follows processes and procedures in an organized, efficient way
• Stays calm and productive in a fast-paced environment
• Enjoys being part of a team and supporting shared goals
• Able to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling and standing for long periods

Required skills

• Experience with pallet jacks or forklifts is a plus
