Staff Legal Secretary, General Liability

About the role

Zurich North America is seeking a Staff Legal Secretary to support three insurance defense attorneys in its Maitland, FL office. The role blends remote and on‑site work, providing flexibility while ensuring critical in‑person collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and type contracts, briefs, summonses, complaints, and motions using legal document formats.
• Provide administrative support to 2‑3 attorneys, including phone handling, scheduling, and calendar management.
• Respond to inquiries from customers, clients, counsel, and witnesses.
• Draft legal pleadings, correspondence, and other documents as directed.
• Maintain accurate litigation management system records and organize electronic files.
• Contribute to team projects and related results.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of legal secretary experience in the insurance industry, or Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 1+ year experience.
• Experience drafting legal documents and providing administrative support to attorneys.

Required skills

• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Familiarity with litigation management software systems.
