Staff Internal Auditor – Financial & Operational Audit (Hybrid)

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Staff Internal Auditor to plan and execute portions of audits, investigations, and projects across the organization. The role involves interviewing staff, performing audit test work, and presenting findings to management while supporting continuous improvement of internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, conduct, and document audit engagements, including financial and operational audits.
• Interview employees and gather evidence to assess control effectiveness.
• Perform data analysis, statistical sampling, and use computer‑assisted audit techniques (CAATs).
• Prepare clear audit reports and present conclusions to department and senior management.
• Educate and assist staff in applying and enhancing internal control procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Reimbursement/Operations, or a related field.
• One year of audit experience in a service‑ or financial‑based industry, preferably healthcare.
• Strong analytical ability to identify errors, root causes, and practical solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interview techniques.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals at all organizational levels.

Required skills

• Proficiency with audit software and computer‑assisted audit tools (CAATs).
• Knowledge of statistical sampling methods.
• Computer proficiency for data analysis and reporting.
