General Ledger Accountant

About the role

The General Ledger Accountant joins AOS Interior Environments as a core member of the Accounting Team. This non‑client‑facing position ensures the day‑to‑day accuracy of the general ledger, from month‑end close and payroll to reconciliations and tax filings, while supporting timely financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare month‑end journal entries and balance‑sheet reconciliations to support accurate close and financial statements.
• Process payroll in Paylocity, record related journal entries, and manage payroll‑related payments such as 401(k), insurance, and garnishments.
• Perform bank reconciliations and post cash activity on schedule.
• Maintain fixed‑asset schedules, accumulated depreciation, and depreciation expense.
• Prepare and file Louisiana and Mississippi sales and use tax returns, annual 1099s, and assist with Workers' Compensation audit.
• Process and reconcile intercompany transactions.
• Support project accounting by updating work‑in‑progress and deferred revenue schedules.
• Prepare audit schedules, documentation, and act as a point of contact for external auditors.
• Assist with accounting research, finance projects, and documentation management.

Required profile

• 5+ years of accounting or finance experience.
• Organized, ambitious professional with strong independent initiative and judgment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective time‑management and ability to meet tight deadlines.
