Staff Communications Specialist

About the role

The Staff Communications Specialist works on the Creative Team to plan, create, and deliver clear, timely internal communications for Pinelake staff across all campuses and ministries. This position bridges leadership and staff, ensuring everyone understands what is happening and why it matters.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute communication strategies and editorial calendars that support organizational initiatives and leadership priorities.
• Produce and distribute staff communications via email, newsletters, text messaging, intranet and other internal channels, maintaining consistent rhythms without overload.
• Partner with executive leaders to craft vision statements, strategic updates, FAQs, presentations and other leadership communications.
• Manage internal communication platforms, keep resources organized, and evaluate effectiveness to recommend improvements.
• Capture and share organizational stories that highlight ministry impact, staff wins and reinforce the church’s mission and culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or related field (preferred).
• 3+ years of professional communication, marketing, PR or journalism experience, preferably supporting leaders.
• Outstanding writing, editing and proofreading abilities with a talent for simplifying complex information.
• Strong interpersonal skills, confidentiality, and sound judgment when handling sensitive information.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
• Experience using email communication platforms, content management systems and project‑management software.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva or similar creative tools (beneficial but not required).
