Sr. Manager Pro Operations

About the role

The Home Depot is looking for a Sr. Manager Pro Operations to lead and direct strategic growth initiatives that help the company meet and exceed its growth objectives. The role involves identifying, researching and analyzing growth opportunities, developing strategies to capture them, testing recommendations and evaluating results. It reports to a Director and typically includes three professional direct reports and one support associate.

Key responsibilities

• Identify opportunities: conduct industry and competitive analysis, customer research and acquisition analysis to find the most attractive growth opportunities.
• Manage projects: handle day-to-day implementation issues, work with store planning, visual merchandising, store and divisional associates, and may lead full pilot implementations of selected initiatives.
• Develop recommendations: prioritize issues and brainstorm solutions with store personnel, merchants, other Home Depot companies, vendors and others.
• Evaluate results: compare financial results against projections using financial analysis, control stores and other benchmarks, and assess operational issues by visiting stores, talking to associates and customers and interviewing merchants.
• Communicate with senior management: prepare presentations for the growth steering committee, the president's meeting and other meetings to share progress and gather feedback.
• Ad hoc involvement in strategic acquisitions, including candidate identification, industry evaluation, negotiations and post-acquisition follow-up.
• Select, develop and motivate assigned staff.

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Preferred: a master's degree and eight plus years of experience; minimum education is a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Typical working conditions: mostly sitting, occasional lifting of light items, regular exposure to dust, fumes or odors, pressure to meet deadlines and quotas, and dealing with difficult people or situations.
• Travel of less than 10% overnight.

• Computer literate and comfortable with database structures.
• Conflict resolution and a basic understanding of the retail environment.
