Speech Language Pathologist - PRN (Home Health)

About the role

AdvisaCare, a home care provider serving Flint, is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist to work on a part-time PRN basis. The therapist works directly with clients to evaluate, plan and deliver therapy for speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders, and collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to determine patient needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in line with physician orders and agency standards.
• Provide therapeutic interventions for speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders.
• Educate patients and families on communication strategies, compensatory techniques and safe swallowing practices.
• Assess and document progress, modifying treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and communicate with clients, families, caregivers and physicians.
• Maintain compliance with legal, ethical and professional standards.

Required profile

• Degree from an accredited SLP program.
• Current licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in Michigan.
• CPR certification.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and schedules.
