Speech Language Pathologist

About the role

The Georgia Department of Education seeks a Speech Language Pathologist for the Georgia School for the Deaf in Cave Spring. You will assess and treat individuals with hearing, speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders, supporting their communication development and educational success.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and treat hearing, speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
• Conduct screenings, evaluations, and diagnostic assessments.
• Fit hearing aids and provide auditory training as needed.
• Select and instruct on alternative and augmentative communication systems.
• Monitor, document, and report client progress.
• Participate in meetings, training, and professional development.
• Maintain records in compliance with policies and regulations.
• May serve as a lead worker and guide assigned staff.

Required profile

• Master's degree in speech‑language pathology or audiology (or both) from an accredited institution.
• Current Georgia licensure/certification to practice.
• At least one year of experience as a lower‑level Aud/Speech Pathologist or equivalent.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred.
• Experience in a school or educational setting and knowledge of special education programs.
