About the role
Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate, plan, and administer speech therapy programs for patients of all ages, from infants to the elderly. The role focuses on restoring function, preventing disability, and helping patients achieve maximum independence.
Key responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive‑communication, and swallowing functions.
- Develop and update individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients and families.
- Provide evidence‑based speech therapy tailored to age‑specific needs.
- Document and bill services in compliance with departmental policies and regulations.
- Assist physicians with dietary and feeding decisions for patients with dysphagia.
Required profile
- Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks and maintain workflow control.
- Willingness to travel to patient care assignments, including home care.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (required upon hire).
- Licensed Speech Language Pathologist in the State of Pennsylvania (required upon hire).
Required skills
- SLP licensure (Pennsylvania).
- Basic Life Support (AHA).
- Ability to assess cognition, expressive/receptive language, reading comprehension, speech intelligibility, oral motor structure, and voice.
