Special Procedures Technologist - Interventional Radiology

About the role

Join the Cleveland Clinic Akron General team as a Special Procedures Technologist in Interventional Radiology. You will work days from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM assisting physicians with special radiology procedures in a supportive, patient‑first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform exams as directed by the radiologist, ensuring appropriate anatomical views for accurate diagnosis.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, including pulse assessment and sterile field setup.
• Maintain adequate supplies and comply with Radiology Information System and PACS entry requirements.
• Ensure safety by using proper radiation and bloodborne pathogen precautions.
• Supervise and provide feedback to radiology students, reviewing images and completing quarterly evaluations.

Required profile

• Successful completion of an approved School of Radiologic Technology program.
• License as a Radiologic Technologist in Ohio and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Certification through ARRT in Cardiovascular Technology within two years of hire.
• Three years of experience as a Diagnostic Technologist or one year in special procedures (preferred).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
• Knowledge of sterile field preparation and patient pulse assessment.
• Understanding of radiation safety and bloodborne pathogen precautions.
