Software Engineer New Grad – Machine Learning Platform

About the role

Quora is looking for a recent graduate to join its Machine Learning Platform team. You will work at the intersection of machine learning, distributed systems, and GPU serving performance, helping to power Quora’s core products.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain core infrastructure for Quora’s ML platform, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
• Develop distributed systems for serving large recommendation and language models, focusing on latency, throughput, and cost optimization.
• Contribute to platform initiatives such as PyTorch‑first standardization and feature‑store modernization.
• Participate in on‑call rotation to resolve production issues and improve platform reliability.

Required profile

• 2025 or 2026 graduate (B.S., M.S., or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Genuine interest in large‑scale distributed systems, infrastructure, and machine learning.
• Availability for meetings during Quora’s coordination hours (Mon‑Fri 9 am‑3 pm PT).

Required skills

• Python, Go, or C++ (or ability to learn quickly).
• Familiarity with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, or cloud platforms like AWS.
