Software Engineer - Cloud Engineering (C++)

About the role

NetApp is looking for a Software Development Engineer to join its Cloud Engineering team in Morrisville, NC. The team designs, develops and maintains scalable, secure and robust operating systems and capabilities that run NetApp data management applications in the cloud. Candidates with hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, Azure or OCI are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a strong technical understanding of NetApp's existing cloud data management and storage solutions, their interdependencies and limitations.
• Take part in all phases of product development, including design, test automation, debugging, support and resolution of impactful customer issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design and ship new features.
• Turn vague or undefined requirements into clearly articulated ones through research and handle unstructured tasks.
• Work with limited supervision, driving results and setting priorities independently.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in software development and cloud engineering.
• Proficiency in C/C++ or equivalent, and Python.
• Strong operational knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP or OCI).
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, services and best practices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong verbal, written and collaboration skills.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience building distributed data management systems such as NetApp ONTAP or similar.
• Advanced AWS, GCP or OCI certifications.
• Infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Cloud monitoring and logging tools.

What we offer

• Target OTE salary range of 147,900 - 220,000 USD, depending on location, qualifications and experience.
