About the role
AMD's server software and solutions engineering team is looking for a senior Software Systems Design Engineer to lead the enablement and optimization of HPC and AI solutions on AMD EPYC processors. The role works closely with product, marketing and silicon development teams on performance optimization, competitive analysis and end-customer application optimization. It is based in Santa Clara or Austin.
Required profile
- MS or PhD preferred in Computer Science or a related field.
- Deep technical expertise and a proven track record, working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong team player who collaborates and influences the next generation of product development.
- Preferred: contribution to large HPC code bases in CPU/GPU.
Required skills
- Comprehensive understanding of x86 computing architecture.
- Software-level code optimization and tuning.
- System-level profiling (e.g., uProf, Vtune) and interpretation of perf metrics.
- Familiarity with current and emerging AI tools such as Claude and Cursor.
