Product Analytics Manager
Heartflow · San Francisco
Job description
About the role
Heartflow, a medical technology company behind an AI-driven non-invasive cardiac test, is seeking a Product Analytics Manager to own product analytics for its platform. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Analytics, the role partners with Product, Engineering and Commercial leaders to find out which features drive adoption and retention, and turns insights into recommendations that shape the roadmap. It is a hands-on, hybrid role based in Rohnert Park or San Francisco.
Key responsibilities
- Own the analytical agenda for the platform, identifying drivers of adoption, retention and utilization and turning findings into prioritized recommendations.
- Design, run and analyze experiments (A/B tests, feature flags, staged rollouts) with hypotheses, power analysis and success metrics, and use quasi-experimental methods when randomization is not feasible.
- Define and maintain a product metrics framework (north-star, activation, engagement, retention, feature adoption) tied to commercial outcomes.
- Partner with Engineering to design event tracking in Mixpanel and observability signals in Datadog, owning the tracking plan and event taxonomy and setting up QA processes.
- Build cohort, funnel and lifecycle analyses at user and site level, and product health indicators for Customer Success and Sales.
- Build dashboards and self-service reporting (Tableau, Mixpanel, semantic-layer tools) and define success criteria and readouts for each launch.
- Combine usage data with customer feedback, support tickets, surveys and user research, and champion the use of AI and LLM tools across the analytics workflow.
- Ensure analytics practices follow data handling, privacy and quality policies, and present findings to senior leadership while mentoring analysts.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering); Master's preferred.
- 8+ years in analytics, data science or a related field, including at least 3 years in product analytics.
- Track record of designing experiments that influenced product decisions, and experience leading instrumentation projects with Engineering.
- Experience in B2B SaaS, healthcare technology or medical devices strongly preferred; mentoring or managing analysts preferred.
- Familiarity with healthcare data privacy (e.g. HIPAA) and regulated environments is a plus.
Required skills
- Advanced SQL and Python; cloud data warehouses such as Amazon Redshift, Snowflake or BigQuery.
- Statistical foundation: hypothesis testing, power and sample-size analysis, regression, causal inference.
- BI and visualization with Tableau or similar; semantic layers or metrics stores (e.g. Cube, dbt) a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Mixpanel, Amplitude or Datadog, including event schemas and tracking plans.
- Daily practical use of LLM tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot).
